Assembly for 2 × 2 & 2 × 3 Racks
You’ll use:
・2 × 3 tube ・Paddles ・Weight-horn ・All three 3½ in bolts ・One 4½ in bolt
・3½ in spacer set ・Eye-bolt + nut + washer ・Rubber ring ・Hardware above
- Attach the paddles
- Orient paddles so the UHMW plastic faces inward (toward the rack).
- Insert the three 3½ in bolts through the last three holes in the 2 × 3 tube.
- Add washers and thread on large nuts—finger tight for now.
- Install spacer block
- Slide the 3½ in spacer into its slot at the opposite end; secure with its two bolts and washers.
- Add eye-bolt
- Feed the eye-bolt through the smallest hole on the tube end; add washer and small nylock nut. Hand-tighten.
- Mount the weight-horn
- Decide plate size: for 45 lb/20 kg plates, the fifth hole from the paddle end is typical.
- Insert the single 4½ in bolt with washer, add large washer on the far side, then screw the weight-horn on.
- Slide the rubber ring over the horn (protects plates).
- Tighten everything
- Once satisfied with horn position, fully torque all bolts.
Kickstand Installation (2 × 2 & 2 × 3)
- Identify orientation: When “parked,” the kickstand tucks under the Mammoth frame.
- Flip out the connection plate so holes align.
- Choose location: Furthest forward hole on the tube maximizes stability.
- Remove the rubber bumper (not needed when mounted).
- Bolt the kickstand through the first 5⁄8 in hole; tighten.
- Test fold-up / fold-down action before final torque.
Assembly for 3 × 3 Racks or Wall-Mount Bracket
You’ll use:
・2 × 3 tube ・Paddles ・Three 4½ in bolts (paddles)
・One 3½ in bolt (weight-horn) ・3½ in spacer set ・Eye-bolt set ・Rubber ring
- Hold each bumper firmly, loosen the nut with a wrench (do not spin the rubber).
- Re-install bumpers on the 3-inch side of the tube; tighten.
- Attach paddles (length is adjustable)
- Choose paddle position to lengthen or shorten the unit (always use three bolts).
- Insert 4½ in bolts + washers, add washers & nuts, finger tight.
- Install spacer, eye-bolt, and weight-horn
Follow the same order as the 2 × 3 build, but use the short (3½ in) bolt for the weight-horn. Add the rubber ring and fully tighten all hardware.
Kickstand Installation (3 × 3)
- Confirm kickstand rests under the frame when folded.
- Use two 3½ in bolts + washers + nuts to mount through the tube holes you selected.
- Tighten and test.
Wall-Mount Bracket
- Locate studs (if mounting on drywall) or pick a solid spot on a wood wall.
- Pre-drill pilot holes (≈ 13⁄32 in / 10 mm).
- Use the supplied lag screws to secure the bracket.
- Aim for a final height between knee and hip when the Mammoth is docked.
Hook-Up & Use
- Clip the carabiner to the belt’s top D-rings, then to the eye-bolt.
- Select a mounting height that places the belt between knee and hip level.
- Fold the kickstand down, load plates, step in, stand tall, and begin belt-squatting.
Common Issues & Quick Fixes
Issue | Cause | Fix |
---|---|---|
Kickstand handle hits 45 lb plate in 3 × 3 setup | Plate diameter too large | Add a 5-lb spacer plate before the 45-lb plate. |
Rubber bumpers strip out | Twisting the bumper during removal | Hold the bumper still; turn the nut only. |
Kickstand auto-engages when dropping from rows | Sudden impact jars the latch | Lower the unit under control or engage the kickstand deliberately after the set. |
